  • Write press releases, blog posts, and human-interest stories in English
  • Report breaking emergency events in real time to international media
  • Promote United Hatzalah’s work and impact across global media outlets

Responsibilities:

Product Manager – Jerusalem

Job Description

As the Product Manager for israelrescue.org, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital experience of United Hatzalah’s online presence. This position involves close collaboration with the Director of Digital Media, website manager, fundraisers, and program directors to design and launch new program pages, fundraising campaigns, and features that resonate with donors.

 

Key responsibilities include optimizing the donor journey, enhancing website functionality, streamlining reporting processes, and ensuring seamless integration with Salesforce. Your efforts will directly support United Hatzalah’s lifesaving mission by creating a dynamic platform for supporters to connect with and contribute to the organization.

 

This dynamic role requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a passion for leveraging digital innovation to drive meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the digital media team, website manager, fundraisers, and program directors to create and create program and campaign pages that align with organizational goals.
  • Work closely with the team member responsible for testing, creating new pages, campaigns, and events, reporting tickets and issues, and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate technical issues, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Interface with the external development company to set priorities, communicate requirements, and ensure timely execution of tasks.
  • Coordinate with the Salesforce team to optimize website integration for seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the user journey and donor experience, implementing strategies to maximize engagement and online giving.
  • Identify opportunities for website performance improvements and recommend features to support fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor analytics and donor behavior to make data-driven decisions for updates and improvements.

Donor Engagement Associate

Job Description

The Donor Engagement Associate will play a crucial role in maintaining and strengthening relationships with current high-level donors, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated for their contributions to the organization. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing effective stewardship strategies, creating personalized communication, and ensuring that donors understand the impact of their gifts. Responsibilities:

Reports to: Director of Office of the President, United Hatzalah

  • Support fundraisers’ efforts to maintain their relationships with donors by developing personalized engagement strategies and stewardship products for their high-level donors.
  • Collaborate with the International Media Team and the Donor Communications Team to create compelling content that highlights donor contributions and their impact.
  • Ensure that donors receive meaningful and timely updates about the specific programs, projects, or initiatives they are supporting.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of interactions with donors in Salesforce.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of stewardship efforts and retention strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • One or more years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Native English Speaker, with intermediate or high level Hebrew.

Grant Writer, Jerusalem

Job Description

United Hatzalah, Israel’s national volunteer emergency response organization, seeks a bilingual grant writer to work on the International Resource Development Team. This position encompasses the full grant cycle: research, Letters of Intent, proposals, reporting, and ongoing correspondence. This is a full-time position working at our Jerusalem office.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential funding sources
  • Write grant applications based on organizational needs
  • Build program proposals, including budgets and measurable outcomes
  • Produce donor-centered marketing material
  • Track submissions of proposals and manage relationships with funders in Salesforce

Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Job Description

Friends of United Hatzalah (FoUH), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which supports the work of United Hatzalah of Israel, is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), reporting to the CFO, to join our expanding US-based team.

 

This full-time position is based in our New York City headquarters on a hybrid in-office work schedule, with a minimum of three (3) days per week in the office. The Manager of FP&A will interact with the entire organization, with potential exposure to the Treasurer and members of several financial committees.

 

This newly created position is charged with completing all monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reporting, with monthly analysis reports distributed to management and the Finance and Budget Committee and periodic operating analysis distributed to operating managers. In addition, the Manager of FP&A will work closely with the CFO in completion of the annual budget process and periodic operating forecasts. Further, this position will be exposed to all operations, systems, and processes of the organization, and will work with the Director of Accounting and other team members as needed.

 

The Manager of FP&A will bring strong financial acumen and analytical skills to the role, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage monthly analysis and reporting process for FoUH, with operational analytics versus budget, forecast and prior year.
  2. Annual Budget: Assist in preparation and presentation of the annual budget, including preparation of materials for presentation to senior management, the Finance and Budget Committee, and the Board of Directors.
  3. Lead periodic financial updates for operating managers, providing a snapshot of performance vs. budget, identifying trends and providing insights on how to best manage resources.
  4. Partner with FoUH Events team to help manage event budgets throughout the year.
  5. Global Consolidation: Assist the CFO with consolidation of global results from FoUH sister organizations in other countries for presentation to the Vice President, Treasurer, and International Committee.
  6. Support: Obtain a working knowledge of all FoUH financial systems and processes; provide support to the Director of Accounting and other team members.
  7. Improvements and upgrades: Partner with the Director of Accounting and CFO with assessment of existing systems, process and procedures, and contribute toward improvements and upgrades.

Qualifications:

The following represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • 4-year degree (BA,BS) from an accredited college or university in Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant Finance experience; prior financial planning experience a must.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial statements and cash flows.
  • Outstanding communication, technical, analytical and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM a plus
  • Prior finance experience in a fundraising / philanthropic organization a plus.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong decision-making, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, work independently, and be effective and decisive under pressure.
  • Able to build strong working partnerships along with the ability to listen, understand and influence across various levels within the organization.

Major Gifts Officer, Five Towns

Job Description

Friends of United Hatzalah seeks a Major Gifts Officer, Five Towns to join our expanding US-based team. This full-time position is based in our New York City headquarters on a hybrid in-office work schedule and reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for maintaining and growing a portfolio in the Five Towns and other Tri-State religious communities. The ideal candidate will be a people – person with 5+ years of experience in fundraising and who comes with deep-rooted ties to the Five Towns Jewish community. This position will work within a friendly and sociable team full of like-minded individuals and grow a meaningful career in the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage fundraising portfolio:
    • Manage a portfolio of major donors ($10,000+) within the Five Towns and Tri-State religious communities ensuring timely, appropriate, and meaningful donor engagement and solicitation.
    • Develop individual fundraising strategies that work for each unique donor, building a pipeline of donors who have potential to give larger gifts.
    • Coordinate donor meetings.
    • Provide donor stewardship to enhance donor experience.
  2. Develop fundraising portfolio:
    • Identify and cultivate new prospects.
  3. Donor Events:
    • Secure hosts for parlor meetings throughout the year.
    • Plan (with the events team partnership) new major donor cultivation and stewardship activities/events.
    • Work closely with Events Team to plan, execute and budget for events.
    • Staff events as needed in NYC area.
  4. Team Collaboration:
    • Work with development team to accurately update and maintain major donor/prospect information and activity in donor database system (Salesforce).
    • Work closely with other members of the fundraising team to achieve collective goals.
    • Attend team meetings and contribute to brainstorming, planning, and strategy development.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar or related role
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Deeply connected to the Five Towns and Tri-State religious communities, with strong existing relationships across local donors, community leaders and institutions.
  • High degree of comfort interacting with high-net-worth donors.
  • Skilled in relationship development with donors, lay leaders and colleagues.
  • Deep understanding of the Five Towns community.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and strategic.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to utilize different forms of relevant communication.
  • Passion for United Hatzalah’s mission.

Salary range:
